WHO IS ANDREW DuVALL?
Growing Up
I was raised in south eastern Pennsylvania where I spent my childhood on a small farm. I was active in 4-H until age 13; we raised alpine dairy goats. There was one particularly memorable gelding named Kryptonite who will always have a huge place in my heart. He would run to the edge of the fence and holler anytime he saw a familiar face get out of the car or walk out of the house; to call him charismatic is an understatement. You couldn’t help but love the dude.
Career Story
My College extracurricular activity was funded by brute force; working as a frat house repairman at the end of each semester, at a tree farm through the holidays and operating a landscaping business during summer. I hung on through the summer following graduation before I up and moved to D.C. I worked at the Men’s Warehouse on Connecticut Ave. and constantly interviewed and applied for career jobs , nothing came of it so I moved on back to my parents house.
My buddy Scoot got me a job farming hay with the coolest entrepreneur I have met to date. Ned owns Delaware’s largest organic diary producer, Natural Dairy Products Corporation, that sells under the label Natural by Nature. Before long Ned saw that I was a sub-par farmer but discovered that I have a knack for building tools in Excel and an intolerance for inefficiency. I spent the first year at NDPC creating documentation, building production planners, inventory management and cleaning logs when a position opened up as Director of Food Safety. This is where I developed my first Quality Control System. It took me and 2 interns well over a year to prepare for the first audit. We did it!
During a mountain bike ride with my College economics Professor, Dr. Andrews, I mentioned my ambition to advance my career. That spiraled into a role as Market Intelligence Analyst for Metalex an old school Illinois Metal stamping company. Some internal shifts caused my services to be spread throughout the corporate organization to Osborn, an abrasives manufacturing division in Indiana and there brand location in Virginia.
